"We see the contributions and the difference they made to our society. We see the lines, the season has drawn upon their browse. We see the moccasins they've worn out and the lives of people they've touched. We treat them with dignity, respect and reverence for what we see in them is "US" when our time will come...."

The First Filipino Luau
"The First Filipino Luau, "Bangkete" in Cebuano accorded to a foreign dignitary."

The King of Cebu Rajah Humabon welcomed Ferdinand Magellan as a friend. Captivated by its noble teaching, on April 14, 1521, Rajah Humabon and his wife Humani, and about 800 Cebuanos were baptized. Thus the Cebuanos became the first Christians in Asia and today the Philippines remain to be the only Christian country in the Far East. Magellan's voyage was considered to be the most significant in naval history. It proves that the world is round.
